ALDAGI BCI is the largest insurer and the leader on the Georgian insurance market. 49% of the company shares are owned by the Georgian Bank and the rest (51%) by Galt& Taggart Securities. ALDAGI BCI was formed by the merger of ALDAGI (founded in 1990) and BCI (founded in 1998) insurance companies.
ALDAGI was founded in 1990 making it the first insurance company on the market. In 2005 ALDAGI acquired the insurance company Selbi, while BCI acquired another insurer - Europace.
In 2006 ALDAGI BCI launched a retail brand CHEMEBI and started offering retail products to individual consumers, thus boosting the development of an insurance culture among the Georgian population. The same year, CHEMEBI brand received the Golden Brand award.
Also that year, ALDAGI BCI opened My Family Clinic network, which comprises of four outpatient and one in patient treatment centres. Insureds are not limited to My Family Clinic, but can receive treatment at any hospital of their choice.
Based on the data published by the regulator, ALDAGI BCI holds 23%, the highest share of the market. Based on 2008 3Q data, ALDAGI BCI gross written premium stood at GEL 50,019,459, whilst amount paid in indemnification made up GEL 23,587,385.
Sociological research shows that for every second Georgian (52%) insurance is associated with the brand ALDAGIBCI.
Our partners include reinsurers and broking houses such as Aon Benfield, Hannover Re, AIG, Munich Re, Swiss Re, SCOR, Allianz, Polish Re, ACE, Sava Re, British Marine and numerous Lloyd's of London Syndicates.
ALDAGI BCI is a member of the Insurance Association of Georgia and International Chamber of Commerce (ICC Georgia) and annually participates in the EXPO Georgia exhibition and various social, sports events and television programmes. ALDAGIBCI was an official sponsor of programmes ‘Etaloni',' Kazarma' and ‘Bina' and is an official insurer of the ‘What? Where? When?' television game. ALDAGI BCI designed a special health insurance product for patriot camp members.
